Ask HN: What system do you use/recommend for burner numbers?

I'm simultaneously a developer with a (small) amount of savvy, and also someone who finds it convenient to give my number out to people who, in retrospect, I'd rather not give my number to.

Any suggestions for a burner solution? I've tried various android/ iOS solutions but found most lacking (and expensive).
