Ask HN: Alternative to Acrobat for beautiful doc templates?

Hi all,

Our clients send us products to be tested. I want to create a beautiful test report template that each of our employees can populate and send.

The employee would then include the photos from the test and some descriptions of the test process and of each photo.

Our staff all have a different (really old) version of Word. My obvious first thought is an editable PDF, but is there a better alternative?

I can "just" do a header and footer for word, but...
