Ask HN: How can a 3-D software engineer break into biotech?
I have been working on 3-D video games for several years (Mathbreakers, Code Hero) and now I want to move into the biotech and nanotech space. I envision creating tools that let people design and manipulate cells, genes, drugs and nanobots in a simulated environment (e.g. a human organ).
Does anyone work in this space want to give me some pointers? If my primary skills are the UX and software design of these application, what companies/positions should I target?
NOTE: I've been reaching out to biotech recruiters and they're ignoring me. Perhaps my skills/vision is too specific, and the space is underdeveloped so far?
