Ask HN: Software engineer wants to get into Sales

So, I'm looking to move away from software engineering. I've built a SaaS and looking to learn more about Sales and Business development. I'm particularly curious about the framework enterprise software companies operate on, it seems to fit the Challenger Sale model, focusing on teaching insights and then leading towards a capability demonstration. This is done through webinars, whitepapers, and other content. However, I'm not sure as to how I can emulate what these larger enterprise software websites are doing. I've been trying to hack this and open to your insights.

One way I thought was to join some established enterprise company as a sales or business development type of roles but not sure how I can make the transition from engineering role when I only have entrepreneurial experience from building a SaaS and hacking my way into enterprise sales.

tl;dr: curious about enterprise software sales and their sales strategy, thinking of joining such company as a sales or business development role to learn more but only entrepreneurial experience, need some guidance.
