Ask HN: How do you keep track of your remote team?
More and more companies are now (partially) remote, including some very large businesses.
What do you do to keep track of people, teams, projects and prevent isolated employees?
Do you think this will scale? What would make it scale?
---
In the case of GitLab, we:
- insist on the majority of all communication to be asynchronous, i.e. in issues on GitLab or email => seems easy to scale - actively ask everyone about their personal and professional activities, every single day => hard to scale, just ran into the max concurrent hangouts participants limit. - like to learn from bigger (25+) remote teams!
