Ask HN: How do I get better at exams?

I need advice on how to perform better in exams.

I've always tested badly, despite being good at the subjects. I struggle to remember things when it comes to the day.

I recently had some important exams, which I did much worse on than I expected. I felt prepared for them, but it turns out I really wasn't.
