I like that the guy's solution was to basically call the college and call Verizon. I feel like she could have done the same.
She did and they said it was too late to return it.
Was this ever fact-checked? The whole thing, including having it make the news, smells like a dirty tricks campaign.
It really happened. I attended this school at the time and had a Linux OS class. We spent a class learning how to better educate people. I know that's no real evidence, but I feel it's a little better than your conspiracy theory.

Linux turns 25 next year. Is anyone working on a consumer desktop yet?

Did I say something wrong? 25 years, a thousand distros that add up to 1% of the desktop, is a bit disappointing.
