Resources on building a home from scratch?

I make decent money and like to keep busy, so I've decided I'd like to spend the next few years building a house. I have yet to buy a lot, but I have money saved.

I'm looking at getting a couple acre place out in the country by some water with a shitty house on it so I can rebuild it while having all the necessities (sewage/water/hydro).

Are there any internet communities specifically for home building? Any "de facto" go-to resources?
