NoviCap is a barcelona-based Techstars company that provides early payments for outstanding invoices to small and medium sized businesses in Spain.
We are having a lot of fun building an international team and we currently have 2 colombians, 3 italians, 2 belgians, a romanian and 5 spaniards in our team and we are expanding from 15 to 27 people the coming months. It is an exciting time to join the team as we are still small enough for smart people to make a huge impact but growing fast enough that there is lot of room for personal growth. There is an option to get equity for top performers.

Our software stands valiantly between scammers and grandma's money.
I found out about this big-hearted YC company from the June 1st Who's Hiring thread and started working full-time on June 15th. Here are some things I've done since then:
- Helped to train & mentor our talented first-job engineer (sourced through Hacker News!)
- Built internal features that made our Customer Support folks pretty much squeal with excitement
- Got to attend & report back on a brilliant event called 'Disrupt Bias' - featuring top researchers in that field
- Attended an INCREDIBLE annual offsite held at a beautiful North Bay ranch
- Watched 'lightning talks' by various team members about the Fermi Paradox, Frank Lloyd Wright, Coco Chanel & many more
- Was treated with compassion after a pretty ridiculous security misstep :/
- Got selected to speak at an upcoming conference that hasn't published its speaker list yet. :)
- Learned a ton about how payment processing works under the hood
- Used Twilio to add functionality to our phone system so our CS friends have a lower call volume
- Increased gif / screencap usage in PRs & code reviews
We're looking for nice people who have worked on hairy, wacky production full-stack code before - someone who can make things better without being rude, judgemental or arrogant about it. We'd prefer session musicians over rockstars.
Email jobs@truelinkfinancial.com and we'll get back to you within 2 business days, pinky swear!
keywords for you CMD+F types (not requirements) - rails, RoR, Jumpman, Jumpman, Jumpman, ruby, fintech, full-stack, chinchillas
Captain401 is building the perfect retirement savings plan for startups and small businesses. We’re following in the footsteps of great companies like Gusto (formerly ZenPayroll) and Zenefits in making essential HR administration a snap for businesses large and small, and like Wealthfront, in making sound investing strategy accessible to everyone.
We also just closed a substantial seed round from top investors, but we’re currently just three people. If you’ve been wanting to dive into an early stage startup, this is the perfect time to start talking to us.
If you’re interested in working with us, you can expect:
* A prompt response with your next steps in the interviewing process.
* A challenging in-person technical interview based around collaborative pair programming. No whiteboard coding.
* An offer with market salary and above-market equity compensation.
* A friendly work environment that emphasizes clear communication and respect.
Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience building and scaling web services in the wild. If you’re familiar with node.js, PostgreSQL, or React, that’s a slight plus. We don’t care where (or if) you went to school.
Definitely talk if us if you’re interested in user psychology and building tools that encourage good saving habits. That’s a big part of what we’re going to be thinking about going forward.
We encourage you to include pointers to open source contributions, your GitHub profile, and personal portfolios in addition to the usual resume and LinkedIn.

We hire people, not skill sets. If you're a smart, motivated developer who likes our company culture, let's talk.
Over the past 18 years we've cultivated a great group of people to work with. Our developers are smart, thoughtful, respectful to each other, opinionated, dedicated, and fun.
Teams at TechEmpower are typically between 2-6 people. Developers are able to work on all aspects of an application and we rely on individual developers to do much of the software design (with guidance and discussion). Working on 1 project at a time but 2-3 over the course of a year, developers get a broad technology experience over time.We pride ourselves on doing the best work we can for our clients. This means working with them to really understand what they need built and delivering what we promise while maintaining a sensible work/life balance. We build quality applications and have fun doing it.
The technologies we use vary over time with our mix of projects. Here is a snapshot of the technologies we use at the moment:

We're a relatively small software company that develops simulation/analysis/design products that are used for product design in a number of industries (e.g. automotive, aerospace, and motorsports to name a few). We have a few open positions in the SW team:
- I manage the development of two products here -- PowerCASE (simultion preprocessor) and PowerACOUSTICS (numerical analysis post-processing tool), both both of which are C++ desktop applications developed Qt on Windows and Linux. We're looking to grow both of these teams to support some major new enhancements that are planned. Both roles are listed as "senior", but I'm flexible on the level of seniority.

http://exa.com/careers/senior-software-engineer-cae-pre-proc...
- The team which develops PowerINSIGHT is also looking to add a couple of developers. PowerINSIGHT is a multi-platform desktop application (developed using C++, Qt, and some Python), which is used by engineers to help explore, compare, organize, and share the vast amounts of data generated by a series of fluid flow simulations.
http://exa.com/careers/principal-senior-software-engineer-c-...
- Finally, we have a team which is developing a product that provides web-based access to Exa's suite of engineering products (using Java/J2EE and various other web technologies), with a particular focus on managing simulation/analysis projects at a high level and supporting collaboration of multiple engineers working on the same projects.

Pivotal Cloud Foundry is a division of Pivotal Inc.
We look for aptitude over APIs. It doesn't matter wether your resumé says PHP or PhD: if you're smart, know some stuff and have empathy, we want to work with you.
Cloud Foundry solves deployment and management. We're the main contributors to CF. We're expanding what is the leading opensource PaaS and our distribution has the fastest-growing sales of any opensource product ever. It's also the only one I'd personally bet a company on -- except for integrated upstream code, every line is pair programmed and TDD'd. We dogfood the cutting edge of the technology on our own commercial public cloud (Pivotal Web Services). It works because we took the XP and Lean DNA of Pivotal Labs and scaled it up to build the best cloud platform bar none.
I spent 7 months on secondment to Cloud Foundry, coming across from Pivotal Labs, and it was awesome. Platforms of this scope and importance are created once in a generation, and I got to be part of it. You can too.
We provide visa and relocation assistance.
At the office we have free breakfast, weekly tech talks, good benefits and competitive pay. Ping pong is not mandatory, but it's popular. I think west-coast ping pong is harder to beat, but east-coast style is more entertaining to watch. The beer fridge has more IPA than I prefer but I guess that's life in paradise.
My time at Pivotal, in both Labs and CF, is the best job I've ever had -- I've learnt more here than anywhere else. Everyone is smart and fun to work with.
You can apply through our website: http://pivotal.io/careers. You can also email me at jchester@pivotal.io to answer any questions you might have and potentially help me score one of our generous referral bonuses.
Please note that emailing me confers no particular advantage over applying directly and I might not refer you. As a consultant I can only reply to emails during non-billable hours, I hope that's OK.
I also posted an ad for Pivotal Labs: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=10311637

Labs helps clients to become better at development. For engineering we are religiously lean and agile -- in practice that means we pair program and TDD every line of code from the outside. Our product managers are fantastic at keeping products sharply focused, our designers are masters from users to pixels. We have a growing data science practice, and some engagements include all four roles.
Our NYC office is growing fast to meet exploding demand for Labs, Cloud Foundry and Big Data Suite.
We are also hiring in all our offices, including new offices: SF, Los Angeles, Seattle, Boulder, Denver, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, Toronto, London, Dublin, Berlin, Tokyo and Sydney.
We provide visa and relocation assistance. In the NYC office we have about 15 people from overseas, including Australians like me.

What we do:
We take real world government data and research, and turn them into interactive data viz tools. The Atlas of Economic Complexity is our current online tool that lets you interactively visualize a country’s trade and explore growth opportunities for more than a hundred countries worldwide. There are also other National Atlas projects launching soon, one for Colombia and one for Mexico.
Our stack:
We use python, django, mysql (hopefully postgres soon), elasticsearch, ansible for the back end. For the frontend, it's ember / d3 on big national projects, jquery/d3 on atlas.cid.harvard.edu/ and WebGL with Three.js on some 3d projects that we’ve launched such as globe.cid.harvard.edu/ Everything we do is open source: https://github.com/cid-harvard
Demo of the current atlas:
An example of how the atlas is useful take this story here: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/03/21/world/europe/h...
Last year the EU placed sanctions on sales of oil equipment, but not on oil imports. Why could this be? Almost 70% of russia's exports are petrol products: http://atlas.cid.harvard.edu/explore/tree_map/export/rus/all...
And Russia exports the overwhelming majority of its petroleum products to Europe:
http://atlas.cid.harvard.edu/explore/tree_map/export/rus/sho...
The big blue chunk is europe, meaning a sanction would really hurt Russia. However, when you look at who else the EU could buy from, the situation is grim: http://atlas.cid.harvard.edu/explore/tree_map/net_export/sho...
There’s practically no one who’s a real political ally that Europe could depend on, save for Norway. It’s interesting how it’s practically impossible to buy oil from a country that’s relatively stable and doing well on the HDI front.
It’s worse if you consider the cost of transporting it, and how close Russia is:
http://atlas.cid.harvard.edu/explore/map/net_export/show/all...
Which probably explains why EU hasn't placed sanctions on oil imports from Russia.
