Ask HN: API for people data?

I'm working on an application that will rely heavily on public record data. I've secured sources for the majority of the data that I need but I still have to find a provider for people data. I'm looking for basic background information on individuals like: age, sex, current residence, marital status, and phone number. Nothing too fancy.

I see that there are a few data brokers out there like Axciom, Datalogix, Intelius, and LexisNexis. Anyone worked with one of these companies before? This is a bootstrapped project so where can I get the most bang for my buck?
