While this is a Joke I know people that actually fly from Spain or Portugal into London about 3 times a week and work the rest remotely and they actually save allot of money on rent.
Some of the low cost flights can sometimes be in the single digits one way, and even if you pay the "full" low cost price you can easily get tickets for under 50GBP with no luggage and no issues.
A decent 2-3 bedroom flat in London in a good area can easily get to 3000 GBP without even touching the luxury market.
You can rent a beach house in Spain or Portugal for less than 500 Euros a month.
Even if you spend a 1000 GBP a month on commuting by only using the big airlines you still save up around 50% of your would be London rent expenditures.

I was on the fence about letting people imagine it's real, but I'll be a bubble burster.
