Should I pursue the mentoring program in corporation?
As a typical technical mind person, I'm naturally attracted to hacker news. Meanwhile, as getting deeper involved in corporate politics and the dynamic so things can get done, and push for "right" agenda (design, vision, strategy etc.), I'm starting to be asked to join the mentoring program and learn soft skills and involving in career planning etc. etc. However, inside I've always been a person hate to deal with people, especially the general crowd where lack of wisdom or logic, so only same kind people as me attracted me. I seriously thought I could get away from the pop corporate culture throughout my life. Now, it's knocking on my door. I'm afraid if I refuse this will leaves a negative impression to corporate as a person who doesn't want to go up the latter or join the rest of them. What should I do?
