Looking to join or create decent Jabber service

Hi! I have found out that MAM and Message Carbons (which mean history sync "as in skype") support everywhere has matured to reasonable degree, so it makes sense to try to adopt Jabber and to try to "infect" friends with it. But all public services known to me have both features disabled. What a pity. Running own server just for myself and friends feels dumb. So:

- Are there decent public services with MAM & MC enabled? I'm fine to pay fair price.

- Who wants to start cooperative private or public server, sharing expenses (or who already does this)?

I am not afraid to store my history on third party server - anything important will be transmitted encrypted.
