Ask HN: Why is contact management so bad on Android Lollipop?

Ever since they removed Groups on Android's contacts with Lollipop, I just find the experience of managing contacts miserable. Even Blackberries have this. Who in their right mind decided this was a good idea? Not even Gmail's web view for contacts is optimized for mobile!
