What images does a well-trained DeepDream return?

I understand that DeepDream outputs images full of 'puppyslugs' because it's been primarily trained on images of dogs.

My question is, what should a 'well-trained' DeepDream output? If it's an image recognition program, and it were trained on 'everything', should it return an image that's basically the same as the input image?
