Ask HN: What are your biggest demotivators?

I’m hugely grateful to be employed, but the last few years, I’ve been struggling to keep up with my own side-projects, and it seems like additional work demands, agile meetings, release deadlines have really been an issue with me simply not wanting to fire up XCode after I get home and work on my own projects.

What obstacles get in the way of your own projects and what techniques do you use to get over them?
