Ask HN: where should I look to learn about online voting security?
Before you tell me that online voting is inherently insecure, let me assure you I know that. But how can I make it as secure as possible to collect votes or other feedback in an online venue? Who is researching this? Are there already techniques in use that I don't know about?
Banks do a pretty good job, but that's partly because they do thorough physical-world validation of identity before going on to online venues. Is there any way for me to set up an online polling system and still be, say, 99% certain that people aren't gaming it?
