Ask HN: Now that Congress/Obama betrayed the mideast community what can be done?

I like many others contacted my senators and representatives (who changed his vote!). The ACLU and other groups fought hard as well. We set up a WH.gov petition but none of it was enough because they stuck this insanely discriminatory law in the crucial omnibus bill. So as advocates try to repeal it next year, I am wondering if we can use SV hero worship to make an impact, because it seems like Congress looks at advocacy groups as a bunch of hippies. Maybe we should get some top tech ceos to announce that this law is bad for business. Iranians and the others targeted are highly productive members of American society and it is more than fucked up that this passed without fanfare. I asked the NY Times to report on it and they never did, and neither did NPR.
