this is disgusting
Admittedly, many of the things on this list are pretty egregiously sexist or classist, or the like, but anything that advises, "Measure yourself only against your previous self," kind of axiomatically can't be "disgusting".
No-one cares if you are offended, so stop it.
Some are, some aren't. Some I tend to agree with:

"There’s always another level. Just be content knowing that you are still better off than most who have ever lived."

"It’s ok to trade the possibility of your 80s and 90s for more guaranteed fun in your 20s and 30s."

"Measure yourself only against your previous self."

"Staying angry is a waste of energy."

"If she expects the person you are 20% of the time, 100% of the time, then she doesn’t want you."

That said, many are, to me anyway, superficial or pointless. A few I find borderline offensive.

Seriously, how is this even relevant to hacker news? It fosters no discussion, and is full of horrific sexist advice.
It's hardly sexist. It's got a lot of human truths with a healthy dose of humor to boot
Then you must lack of sense of humor and live in a bubble.

@gselevator is quite funny

Being a man is expensive...
Yes, that's called bourgeois propaganda.
Favorite advice: "Find a Times New Roman in the streets and a Wingdings in the sheets. She exists."
"Pretty women who are unaccompanied want you to talk to them."

Or, you know, you could treat pretty women as human beings with their own ideas about whom they want to talk to. But that's so much harder!

It's especially hard to learn what those ideas are if you don't talk to them.
Not particularly. There are lots of ways to find out whether someone wants to talk to you. Eye contact is a good one. So is general demeanor. So is whether or not they're burying themselves in their smartphone.
Ouch. You can't respect humans very much if you think a glance is sufficient for learning everything you need to about them.
Or how to burn a bunch of money on inconsequential vanities and bullshit.
Maybe try being a little less holier-than-thou. I'm gonna go ahead and bet a few things you enjoy likely qualify as inconsequential vanities or bullshit to someone. You just happen to define them differently.

And there ain't nothing wrong with that... I happen to enjoy no shortage of inconsequential vanities, and I'm perfectly fine with that. Far worse, IMO, to delude yourself into believing they're more consequential than they are. Life doesn't always have to be about deep meaning and self-discovery.

This is great for single guys.
Now that I'm in my 60's I've done some of these things, I routinely do some other of these of these things, and I think that a few of these things are ridiculous. I guess I'm doing alright for myself.
Ironically, the author, the person behind GSRlevator, never worked at Goldman Sachs. (He did have an offer to join)
