Admittedly, many of the things on this list are pretty egregiously sexist or classist, or the like, but anything that advises, "Measure yourself only against your previous self," kind of axiomatically can't be "disgusting".
Not particularly. There are lots of ways to find out whether someone wants to talk to you. Eye contact is a good one. So is general demeanor. So is whether or not they're burying themselves in their smartphone.
Maybe try being a little less holier-than-thou. I'm gonna go ahead and bet a few things you enjoy likely qualify as inconsequential vanities or bullshit to someone. You just happen to define them differently.
And there ain't nothing wrong with that... I happen to enjoy no shortage of inconsequential vanities, and I'm perfectly fine with that. Far worse, IMO, to delude yourself into believing they're more consequential than they are. Life doesn't always have to be about deep meaning and self-discovery.
Now that I'm in my 60's I've done some of these things, I routinely do some other of these of these things, and I think that a few of these things are ridiculous. I guess I'm doing alright for myself.

That said, many are, to me anyway, superficial or pointless. A few I find borderline offensive.
@gselevator is quite funny
Or, you know, you could treat pretty women as human beings with their own ideas about whom they want to talk to. But that's so much harder!
