I was almost scammed. Changes to reddit/gmail/linkedin/skype could avert this.

By creating a "fresh" identity on these services he was able to create a "believable(ish)" identity.

Would be great if these services gave some indication as to how old the account was when the initial communication was made.

A warning that the account is new and to be careful when communicating with them would have put me in a more cautious frame of mind...
