Ask HN: Is it good to have stories from work?

Reflecting on the teams I've been part of, I frequently talk about them with stories of efforts we made.

Examples: "We stayed up until 2am retooling the presentation ..." "We met this crazy deadline we didn't sign up for by doing..." "I had to create the silliest thing, but what we SHOULD have built is..."

Typically, these stories come from difficult or undesirable circumstances, yet they make interesting stories to retell.

Is it good to have stories? Are there times you've had truly positive stories that you've told friends and family? If so, what are they?
