Ask HN: Would you use a central DB mgmt Tool (SQL/NoSQL)?

I have been working on a tool that is cross platform and manages SQL databases as well as common NoSQL systems. In the end it will allow you to move data between them seamlessly as well as natively query either without having to leave a single IDE.

Why? Cause my team noticed we were consistently using SQL tools for the data that truly belonged in SQL. But then had to switch and move to NoSQL tools to get data from those systems (and combining them is a bitch). Our idea was to create a single IDE with allowed us to correlate data and to manage data regardless of source.

Is this something you can see value in or is it unique to our needs? The idea is to take what we have done and release it, both as open source and as a licensed product. However, it takes some significant work and dedication to accept supporting others, so I am not sure we should do it. Looking for feedback from the community, thoughts?
