I'm curious as to why a movie review is on the front page of HN. This seems out of scope for HN.
Is anything truly out of scope for HN?

More to the point, the Coen brothers have created many movies that are cultural touchstones for the kind of nerds who hang out here. Who doesn't love The Big Lebowski?

As much as I love the idea of the Coen brothers doing a send-up of 1950s Hollywood, I'd love to see them tackle the auteur era of the 1970s next - the era when cutting-edge directors like Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorcese, and William Friedkin were given free reign and free budgets to make edgy, socially complex dramas. That era came to a close with the incredible flop of Heaven's Gate (which bankrupted United Artists as a studio), but it created the environment where modern stylists like the Coen brothers could thrive.

Come to think of it, I may just be repeating the plot of The Player here...
