Ask HN: Data Science – What is it? Should I get into it?

I'm thinking about where to expand my skill set and I'm wondering if Data Science is a good skill to acquire. Is it something that will grow in the next 10 years? It seems like it's only growing, but I'm not exactly even sure what it is. Thanks!
