TRIZ: the theory of inventive problem solving

I recently introduced myself a bit to Triz [0] , the theory of inventive problem solving, created in USSR. I would like to dig into it by reading some book on it, and trying, but before I would like to make sure it won't be just a waste of time. I read about its efficiency from consultants selling the workshops. Does anyone from HN community use it, or have any experience?
