[–] dangrossman 16y ago ↗ This has been around for about two years. Any context for submitting the link? [–] cake 16y ago ↗ I'm not sure you could create your own series two years ago. [–] jmonegro 16y ago ↗ It's surprisingly unheard of. For example, it hadn't been posted on HN before. [–] orblivion 16y ago ↗ I was hoping the news was that the interface made any sense.

[–] evlapix 16y ago ↗ What the hell does it do? [–] howcool 16y ago ↗ +1 [–] Estragon 16y ago ↗ The help screen explains a little more: http://www.google.com/support/moderator/But it's still unclear to me how this differs from, say, a typical phpBB installation. [–] technomancy 16y ago ↗ > But it's still unclear to me how this differs from, say, a typical phpBB installation.Fewer security holes? [–] jmonegro 16y ago ↗ Voting [–] timdorr 16y ago ↗ Ask a question, people submit potential answers, others vote those answers up or down. [–] liquidben 16y ago ↗ So is this Google's first evolutionary step towards something equivalent to Stack Overflow [–] alextp 16y ago ↗ I think it's more like Yahoo!Answers

[–] CoryMathews 16y ago ↗ Uh.. Google should hire some usability people I have no idea how to use this pos. [–] snprbob86 16y ago ↗ To be fair, this thing was developed by a single guy for internal use. Someone then ported it to Google App Engine just to prove he could.EDIT: Although I see it has evolved significantly along the way to its prestigious top-level URL. [–] babycakes 16y ago ↗ They did. The guy who wrote moderator originally works on data center power management, so they recently hired somebody else to clean it up for public consumption. [–] pavs 16y ago ↗ Is this the final result after cleanup, or work still being done? It looks OK, but I think it can be much improved.
