Ask HN: What do you do when your app is slow?
I'm not a developer, but with a background in performance engineering, I've worked with many developers over the years helping to predict and troubleshoot the performance of their apps. However, that was in a corporate setting.
I've since started my own consultancy, RootPerformance, focusing more on app troubleshooting.
I'm looking to get a sense of how dev shops approach performance issues with their own apps or client apps they created or support, and whether they need a troubleshooting service, which is typically used more by bigger enterprises.
What do you do when your app is slow?
You've confirmed that it's not your code, but the app either is still slow or your client is blaming you. Do you bring someone in to help you look at issues external to your code? Do you just plow along trying to figure it out?
Or is this not an issue at all for you?
Thanks.
