Taking time off to Study Language and Interview skills

Hey,

I'm thinking of taking 3-5 months off (I'm a contractor). To do an intensive language course in Spanish and work through cracking the coding interview. Additionally I'll keep doing what I do now (perhaps more) playing with some new techs like angular 2

I have the money aside to achieve this. Any things I should be aware of? My main fears are

- having a big gap in my CV (I've been working for 7 years up till this point) - ending up doing nothing
