I think i can give more realistic answer

there are 2 reasons 1) Religions are appears to tell supernatural stories everywhere to the people but they are rational and reasonable to the stories 2)Everything have good side and bad side. Of course religion have many good sides, But the bad side, Because of immature beliefs or expired beliefs, many people are suffering in many countries.. You know mass Man slaughtering,, Honor Killing etc.
