Ask HN: How did you spend your day yesterday?

Hey HN, I am doing some research on how developers spend their work time. Besides standups, meetings and ping pong, what percentage of the day does a developer spend coding, researching libraries/technologies, etc?

For example, I spent 70% of my time yesterday reading about a couple of message queues and trying to understand which one would be appropriate for my needs and spent the rest 30% playing creating a proof of concept on my laptop.

wow talk about a slow day.

I spent 80% of my time coding. 10% of the time collaborating with a buddy and 10% of the time testing and bug fixing (some of which the buddy found).
