Does anyone understand what's happening with Bernie vs. Hillary anymore?

I am missing what is happening, why so much talk and so much unclarity around the subject? Why the current voting system is so complicated (is it?) and how can it be corrected if it has flaws? thanks

In short: Clinton has already won, but a few people haven't realized this is basically true.

Clinton both has a strong lead, almost 400 delegates, of pledged delegates who MUST vote for her at the DNC. In addition, she has over 500 more superdelegates who have stated they intend to vote for her (out of about 700 total, not all of which have voiced their decisions yet). Superdelegates do not vote until the DNC, and can vote for whoever they want.

Theoretically, if Sanders could convince enough superdelegates to vote for him instead of Clinton, he could still win, even though the popular vote is against him. But between the popular vote being in Clinton's favor, and the fact that the Democratic establishment prefers Clinton anyways (many of which are those very superdelegates), this would be an almost completely unheard of scenario.

Sanders is likely mostly staying in the race at this point to get a chance to soapbox at the DNC a bit.

Daily reminder that the DNC has been colluding with Clinton since the beginning
