Ask HN: Buying a Patent and forming a business around it

I'm interested to here stories, anecdotes, etc. from people who have bought the rights to a patent and formed a business around the patent.

Perhaps it was the product or just a process to make the product. Also would like to hear about experiences with using patent brokers. Good idea?
