>> You can now leave your home in all security.

>> 20 minutes flying time.

O_o.

This has to be one of the best written websites ever.

20 minutes of all security is really all you need.
Captures intruder events during those quick trips to the market.
>>Cardinal Drone prevents you and the family in case of intrusion in your house

Prevents us from doing what?

Yeah... was thinking maybe it could charge it self and fly "patrols" that way. But yeah this is a ridiculous site. And as nickparker points out the "20 minutes" is highly aspirational.
"Cardinal Drone prevents you and the family in case of intrusion in your house" - typo? Maybe "Cardinal Drone protects you and your family..." ?
The landing page isn't very convincing. Who is the maker of this thing?

Am I really gonna spend $4000+ for something that looks like it wasn't even built once yet?

Scam, or just terrible website?
Why can't it be both?
Touche, and in fact, if it's the former then it is by definition both.
Eh star citizen is a scam with a nice website. Sure I can think of others.
Libertarians rejoice! Government military research has finally brought you a product you can enjoy at home!
That is quite a visual design. 'Cardinal' indeed.

Anyway, doesn't answer the fundamental question: if I am scared enough to spend $4010 (the cost of the preorder) for a drone prototype which can't fly more than 20 minutes and will probably be broken or obsolete in 10 years, why wouldn't I just install some surveillance cameras and get 24/7 coverage?

But then how will you have the latest new toy?
Technology looking for a problem.
This is very interesting. This is actually an area that I spent great deal of time doing academic research in and I even looked into building something very similar to this. While it's possible in some sense, I'm not sure the technology is there yet for a full product to be delivered to consumers. I remain skeptical but am excited to follow this. I would like to see more details about a couple different pieces of the hardware & software they are using. I would also be interested in the people behind this, as there are several researchers work in this area that I would be significantly more inclined to have faith in.
Multirotor hobbyist here - are those props some sort of strange heavy lift configuration? I've never seen such a long chord length on such small props.

Anyway, unless those props are somehow very special, there's no way that thing flies for 20 minutes. Way too bulky, that body is blocking like 20% of each prop's thrust, and quads that size just can't carry a 3 axis gimbal for that long.

"Cardinal flies itself in your home to capture strangers events in your home"

With that added to the other quotes in the comments, you have gotten all the entertainment value you're going to get from the site.

I guess some Blender renders + a bootstrap theme makes you a robotics company.

Scam. Using a 3rd tier crowd sourcing network (Tilt), no actual pictures of prototypes or models - only rendered files. Crappy English.

Not even your typical Kickstarter scam... Sheesh.
