GDP, industrial production, vehicle sales, inflation rate, oil production. Sure America is in great shape, how about Americans?
No graphs relative to health for example, yes people live longer, but are less and less healthy. No graphs about wealth distribution.
Military expenditure? For a country that has been constantly at war for literally decades (without actually winning any war), we can expect a big fat bill sure. How is it a sign that the country is doing well?
Seriously, sure the country is not going straight to hell, but maybe we can acknowledge that using "averages", "medians" and "per capita GDP" hide some real problems and suffering in the country.
Well said. Income disparity is a perfect example that doesn't manifest itself in averages. If GDP is increasing, but only 1 in 10 is actually seeing any benefit, I wouldn't say things are fine.
