Twitter Is a Publicly Traded Company, Right?

Instead of censoring #DNCLeaks, shouldn't Twitter be trying to figure out how to monetize firestorms like this? As a shareholder, I feel this goes against the very purpose of going public. They really don't have the time to play in the politics sandbox at this point.
