I've often found myself staring agape, stunned at the lack of awareness as to the irony emanating from the same people who give such power to language with their abject refusal to entertain 'context', 'intent' or even the sheer mutability language has shown to be capable of over the thousands of years of human discourse.
Same thing I said a few weeks ago in a discussion over Github wholesale blanking out a repository because it used the word 'retard' in the dictionary sense of impeding the rate of progress.
If that makes me sexist I guess I'll just have to take it "like a man"?
I'm sure the world was waiting with bated breath for Jezelbel's review of No Man's Sky. Even if they were, though, Jezebel's unwavering dedication to hypocrisy has obliterated any moral high ground they could ever claim. Even in something as lightweight as a game review. This refusal doesn't surprise me, and it does nothing to elevate the level of discourse either.

[ 2.7 ms ] story [ 21.0 ms ] threadNonsexist language has progressed pretty far. Replace "him", "her", "him or her" or other awkward constructions with "that person".
man is also a word for human, or is human also sexist? because it;s not huwoman? what a bunch of nonsense!
