Ask HN: Storing passports pics in the cloud, any technical advice?

I want to collect passports/identity cards pics for user validation purposes. Any technical advice to handle this in the best possible and most secure way? I was thinking ssl+image encryption+amazon s3 is it enough? Should I think of anything else? Thx
