How can you know what country is best for you to live in if you want to migrate?

Hey there, I want to go abroad in the next few years and the thing I'm looking for is the culture and the community I will find in the place I decide to move in. But how can I really know how living there as a local is really like? Even if I go for a few days as a tourist, can I really make up my mind? What do you think? Is something I'm getting wrong here or have you been in the same situation? Thanks, Alin R.
