Ask HN: What's the next big thing that will exceed hiring capacity?

The current big thing seems to be machine learning. In 2010 I assumed self-driving cars or beating a Go grandmaster wouldn't even be a consideration until maybe 2030. I don't think I was alone. But it has happened, and now everyone is studying/hiring machine learning.
