The persistence of time-wasting software anti-usability

This is a rant. You might want to tell me this is user error, but you won't dissuade me from thinking I'm a smart person with a reasonable goal.

GOAL: Take notes that I can access easily given an Internet connection. I'm using an iPhone.

STEPS SO FAR:

Start Evernote

Edit note, edit field scrolls wildly and unpredictability

Edit title, Evernote crashes

Retry, crashes

Try to access Evernote web

Password fails, try others, look in 1Password, finally reset password

Evernote web doesn't support mobile, but doesn't say this anywhere. It's just silently hidden.

Log into OneNote. App recommended

Try to download app, over 100MB, can't download on 6GB LTE

Try web interface, fails silently

Try chrome, sign in again, fails silently again

Look for 100MB limit workarounds, none work

Go to HN to complain and get criticized

Start typing title, accidentally hit Go, posts anyway without text

Delete, start again

BEST PART:

I was able to complete 80% of this post with predictive text only. Amazing.
