Ask HN: What happened to Libery Reserve's company funds?

If anyone remembers the payment processing site Liberty Reserve then you probably know that the entire service got seized in 2013.

Today I came across an old BBC article (by chance) and in the end of the article it says "...forfeit $122m of company funds."

Now I'm curious about what happened to those funds because as far as I know, none of it was returned to any of the people that had an account with a balance on the site.
