I do custom electronics, robotics, and embedded software development - I specialize in quickly turning ideas into prototypes. I've built custom automation equipment for chemistry labs, sensors that are in use in household/utility applications, control circuitry for construction equipment, 3d printing electronics, data acquisition equipment. No project too small. Few projects too large. Deep discounts for open source hardware work.
I would also be happy to come over (anywhere in Europe) and teach any of the above skills to a small group of interested people. I've taught courses in electronic assembly (SMD), 3d printing (building/using printers, iterative 3d model design using programming) and robot design and construction. I am a twenty-something GNU/Linux geek. I am looking for an entry-level devops / infrastructure automation position. My ideal position is "Junior Cloud Engineer".
At the moment, these are my core competences related to this field:
1. General Linux administration (Mostly ubuntu/debian: repositories, package, apt-pinning, cron-jobs etc)
2. Shell scripting (shell scripts, cron jobs, etc)
3. Python/Perl scripting (basic-medium)
4. Iptables/OpenVPN (basic firewalling and/or natting)
5. Familiar with Apache2/LigHTTPd (very willing to learn nginx)
6. Docker (basic application dockerization, programmatically spawn/stop/delete containers, very willing to learn other stuff)
7. Mailserver setup/troubleshooting (Postfix/Dovecot, Sieve, SPF, antispam, greylisting etc)
8. Can use GNU Emacs, Vim, nano. Don't have strong preferences.
9. Experience developing for/deploying to Heroku and Dokku
10. Experience in setting up a basic Jenkins instance.
