Tell HN: Chrome is ignoring a major usability issue. #EndTheFlashbang

The white flash between page transitions on Chrome is killing my eyes. I use dark themes on every app and website that supports them, and every time I click a link in Chrome, I have to close my eyes to avoid being blinded by the white background. Why hasn't this issue gained more steam:

https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/Rmd8IyUjG68

https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=119871

Issue after issue gets closed. I want a setting that allows me to set the background to black. I don't want a work around. I don't want an extension. I don't want to edit a CSS file buried in Chrome's temp files. None of those solutions are appropriate for a general user.

Anyways, clearly opening issues for this isn't working. The biggest issue I see is that this is an issue that affects users without them realizing it - you just get eye pain and you don't know why. I'm curious if we can gain any traction, so I started the hashtag #EndTheFlashbang. If you agree, please tweet your support!
