That's a really stupid reason to make a choice like that, but do as you'd like. Thiel is a big boy and will survive it.

Honestly, who cares?

I can't be the only one that sees the delicious irony here. People are calling for a purge based on political opinions... in the name of diversity!

The image I like to remember is the victorious Ulysses S. Grant telling the defeated Robert E. Lee and his officers to keep their horses, keep their sidearms, and go home to their families.

We have vicious disagreements in this country over politics. We are grappling with very challenging issues, such how to handle immigration from parts of the world where majorities of people support death for apostasy and homosexuality, and honor killings of disobedient women.

We fight these battles in the political arena, and keep our respect for each other as citizens who want the best for their country. Purges have no place in a free society.

I don't think a single person has accused Peter Thiel of treating them unfairly.

So, say my political opinion is that people of a certain race shouldn't be allowed in this country, or something like that. In that scenario, my opinions favor a less diverse world, and calling me out publicly and making sure my ideas don't go mainstream would improve diversity.

So what do you find so ironic?
