At Magic Instruments, Inc., we are looking for a highly skilled iOS engineer who will help us to build our next generation of cutting-edge, connected and immersive mobile - music and gaming - hardware + software experiences for the iOS platform. We are combining never-been-attempted music technology, best-in-class mobile applications, and cutting edge data processing to help people be musically expressive, form connections and provide meaningful insights. You'll have a high degree of ownership and will be responsible for developing our flagship mobile product. You'll work closely with our engineers, product, design and business teams to provide millions of users with a captivating, engaging and integrated mobile experience. About You:

You will be expected to:

- Work closely with a world class, small close-knit team of engineers and product designers to build new features and products.

- Develop mobile apps for iOS and integrate internal and external third party web based APIs for metrics and additional functionality.

- Be able to quickly prototype new ideas with data or interaction design.

- Practice TDD and BDD and treat testing as much a part of your job as writing product features.

- Never settle for good enough, constantly push the limits of how impactful what you deliver is and have pride in your craft

What we are looking for:

- Strong hands-on experience producing production quality code and owning the process end to end from conceptualization to shipping and maintaining mobile apps using Objective-C and/or Swift through TestFlight and AppStore.

- Strong experience with CocoaTouch, ReactiveCocoa / PromiseKit

- In-depth knowledge of OOP, design patterns, algorithms and data structures.

- Strong skills integrating apps that utilize RESTful web services

- Track record of developing native iOS apps with excellent UX

- Experience writing multi-threaded, asynchronous code

- Knowledge of iOS SDK performance tools and optimization techniques

- Familiarity with Core Data / SQLite, experience in working with systems with data sync capabilities between the mobile app and backend systems and a general understanding of distributed systems.

- Experience doing automated builds and testing mobile apps using technologies like Appium, Jenkins, etc.

- Extreme attention to detail, driving for pixel perfection.

- 4+ years of experience working in a mobile engineering role, post academia.

- Academic background in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience.

Bonus Points:

- Extensive experience and in-depth understanding of the BLE iOS stack.

- CocoaPods, SpriteKit, SceneKit

- Optimizely, Amplitude, Crashlytics, Mixpanel, etc.

- Swagger, Protocol Buffers, Thrift, Jenkins
