C language inventor Ken Thompson not allowed to checkin code in C at Google (theregister.co.uk)

As has been pointed out on reddit[1], this article is incredibly inaccurate and should be ignored.

But, I still found it funny when I read coders at work ;)

  acne-scarred, know-it-all Oompa-Loompa who is absent-

Not to overstretch the point.

To be honest the consistent application of these rules is very important to their effectiveness. If Ken Thomson didn't need to take the test, how about the older guy who has been programming in C for 40 years. Why should he take the test...

I also seem to remember reading that Guido had to take a similar test for Python.
