Normally yes, and in a world where time and deadlines didn't exist, yes. But putting out woefully un-vetted information within 10 days of an election doesn't give the defending side time to respond.
The FBI don't even know if these revelations matter, and we won't until the election is over. It added nothing to public discourse other than fear and despair, which is why the FBI generally doesn't make announcements like this. It was unprecedented.
What's unprecedented is a presidential candidate under multiple active FBI investigations for various crimes including, but not limited to, money laundering, corruption, and theft in the case of Haiti. Hillary decided to break the law. It is 100% her fault she is under active FBI investigation. She was even protected by bureaucrats in the DoJ and colluded with the media companies to protect her fragile image. Maybe if she didn't break so many laws with such blatant disregard this wouldn't be an issue.
It's just pathetic, it's not Trump's fault Hillary decided to break the law. This race would have been over a long time ago if Hillary didn't arrogantly throw corruption, pay to play, and other crimes in the faces of an American population sick and tired of blatant regulatory capture, lobbyists, and other corrupt power structures in an overreaching and off-the-rails federal government.
Hillary brought this on her self. Here's an idea, even her campaign staff suggested in the email leaks: stop breaking the law and maybe you won't have problems with the FBI. What a concept.
I am truly shocked by the amount of people who favor Clinton over the FBI. It's very disheartening that so many people are so deluded by their own hubris.
I just hope to God that these cases aren't closed forever by a Clinton presidency.
The FBI is not infallible. It's an organization made of largely of middle aged privileged white men.
Considering Drumpf's campaign is more or less the white supremacy's last gasping rage that white people are going to have to start sharing there privileges in this country, it's not too far fetched to suggest an organization with that background would be sympathetic and therefore have a vested interest in helping Drumpf.
Dude, you're telling me in the same breath that you're not a white supremacist and yet you voted for a racist billionaire whose supported by David Duke, the KKK and legions of Internet neo-Nazis?
Look, if you're some angry high school drop out living in West Virginia, I could cut you a bit of slack on a Trump vote. You'd still be wrong, you'd still be an ignorant bigot, but it would be a consequence of a lack of education, not entirely your fault.
However, if you're here on hacker News, your presumably educated and have a grasp on the actual issues at stake. If that's the case and you still voted for Drumpf you are by definition a racist, sexist, hateful bigot and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I'm not a white supremacist. I just want everyone to try their hardest to at least have a net zero (if not positive) effect on society.
All you do is call people racist.
