YouTube Documentary Series about the Swedish Startup Ecosystem by Gabe Savage

Tech journalist Gabe Savage travels to Sweden to try and find out why Stockholm is the #2 unicorn capital of the world. Several of the responses he gets whilst in New York is that they believe that this holds true because Sweden is a "socialist" country.

Sweden is historically a social democratic country with liberal tendencies. Of late the legislation, taxes and other traditional socialist trademarks has been lessened. This naturally has some implications on the way Sweden has the ability to maintain their system of government funded programs.

The big question is, if this will matter? Could it be that part of Sweden's success has been that we have a lot of social security that allow people to take risks, or is there something else about Stockholm that makes it so great at generating unicorn startups?
