Ask HN: How do you use the keyboard, including function keys, for real work?

I've seen discussion in a few places since the new MBP announcement about the function keys going away. I know that I personally use them a lot keyboard shortcuts including function keys for my work flows. E.g., in my terminal prompt I have mapped common commands that I use all the time into macros assigned to function keys. For my Ruby workflows, I have various rake & bundle commands a single key press away. For when SSHed into Linux servers I have stuff like "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade" ready in a split instant. I tell you, it really is a party trick at work.

How do you use the keyboard? I am alone in using key mapping settings with the aim at being able to do as much as possible without resorting to the mouse or retyping?
