Ask HN: Google Adwords is too manual. Is there not a better way?

I'm using Google Adwords, and it's way to manual. I have to put in all my keywords manually. I have to type in all the text ads manually. Is there no better way to do this? I saw references to Google's Adwords Editor, but I'm using Ubuntu Linux and it only works on Windows & OSX.
